This piece was done as a demonstration for a class, considering the wide variety of green of summer. My goal, in painting this, and in teaching these days, is to point to the light, and to the dark that makes it glow. As in life, I think we need all those shades of darkness to help us see the light - to make all things visible and understandable. This is a scene from Thorpe Park in my neighborhood.
