After helping students in my Watercolor Birds class paint a pair of graceful swans lifting off from the water, I decided recreate my original version (Liftoff) in a looser style. What fun! And what a challenge to stay loose in order to create this new interpretation. So I challenged my students to try re-interpreting, in a similar way, one of the bird images they had painted.
