After helping students in my Watercolor Birds class paint a pair of graceful swans lifting off from the water, I tried my hand at remembering that image and painting it in a looser style. I tried not to look at the reference photo or at my more representational painting of it. What fun! And what a challenge to stay loose and to create my own interpretation. So I challenged my students to try interpreting one of the bird images they had painted in a similar way. This piece is available - $195 unframed.
